When deodorant does not help
Increased sweating can accompany chronic ailments that a person does not know about
It got warmer, and we all switched to an almost summer wardrobe. The sun is already scorching so that sweat flows in three streams, as the people say, especially when you are in transport. But we do not hear the smell of sweat from some people. But others are good to be bypassed by the tenth road…
Why do some people have bad body odor, especially if they are neat?
-Scientists have not proven the version that hyperhidrosis (increased sweating) develops in men more often than in women, so representatives of both sexes suffer equally from this problem. It depends on the number and activity of sebaceous and sweat glands, the structure of the human nervous system. But it often happens that this problem suddenly develops in a certain period of time. Mostly this happens during menopause, dysmenorrhea (gynecological diseases in women). And sometimes when such a symptom appears, doctors advise to check the level of sugar in the blood, because hyperhidrosis can accompany diabetes, – explains cosmetologist Zhanna Prykhodko.
–Therefore, the underlying problem may need to be treated.
– In the fight against such a problem, which means are better to choose?
– Let’s start with the fact that one of the first rules is compliance with the norms of personal hygiene. And deodorant should not be used more than once a day. It should be done in the morning after taking a shower. With frequent use, sebaceous glands may be blocked and their functions may be impaired, which threatens the development of stagnant phenomena. At the same time, the risk of the joining of pathogenic flora and the development of the inflammatory process increases.
It is best to resort to additional auxiliary measures in such cases. We are talking, in particular, about baths and lotions made from a decoction of oak bark, the use of powders with talc. And the most effective procedure for hyperhidrosis is a procedure during which (often under local anesthesia) circumcision of the armpits, palms, and feet is performed. However, it should be borne in mind that such a procedure should be repeated every 4-6 months, it is after such a period of time that the work of the sweat glands is restored, albeit with less intensity than the previous time.
– Previously, there was a popular version that the reason for the development of sweat gland cancer could be deodorant, is this true?
– Cancer in general belongs to that group of diseases, the causes of which still remain unknown. This also applies to sweat gland cancer. Therefore, scientists do not dare to claim that deodorants can be the provocateur of danger. In this matter, doctors agreed on only one thing – the need for regular preventive examinations.
