Oleksiy Popov, a trichologist at the Kyiv Hair Health Center, spoke in detail about this symptom.
What kind of hair suffers the most from electrification?
– Dry and painted. Hair that is not cared for, i.e. cut, “burnt” and dehydrated, mainly accumulates an electric charge.
Most often, such problems arise in late autumn and winter. Because the humidity in the rooms where we are is reduced by 40%.
– What are the causes of dry hair?
– Nervous tension, metabolic disorders, reduced nutrition (weight loss), lack of vitamins A and B, improper hair care, over-drying of the scalp, and disorders of the digestive system.
And that’s not all! People who have dry hair should have their thyroid checked immediately. After all, electric charges on the hair can indicate problems in its work.
-When else is hair electrified?
– First of all, when you are dressed in clothes made of artificial fabrics, sweaters, scarves and hats. Metal objects are also reinforcing factors, even when touching a refrigerator or batteries.
In addition, hair dryers used to dry hair after washing are the cause of hair electrification.
– How can you protect your hair from “charges”?
– Its dryness should be reduced.
For this, you need to use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. You can use special masks sold in cosmetology stores. Forget about plastic combs. Only the wooden one, which has the least ability to accumulate charges, should be in hand.
