It is understandable, of course, but not for everyone. Well, if you are serious, then we will talk about the fashion for piercing. I had a chance to experience the impression of this fashion on personal experience. My daughter, without telling me anything, decided to make a surprise by getting her eyebrow and lip pierced in one of the private salons and paying 120 hryvnia for it (with sergs, of course).
My daughter beamed with happiness, and I, from excitement for her health, bled from my nose.On the second day, the eyebrow swelled and swelled, closing the eye. I went crazy and demanded to give the address of the salon where everyone did this without my permission. But in vain. Over time, the eyebrow healed, the daughter matured and took out the earring. But her friend, already a freshman, managed to get herself a tongue piercing. It all almost ended in tragedy. Having gone to rest with this fashion accessory in Bulgaria, she found that her tongue was swollen, began to hurt and prevented her from breathing. It took the intervention of a doctor who took off this “tsatskaya” – and the girl literally came to life. Young people don’t always get along well with piercings. Sometimes these manipulations with appearance pose a direct threat to health. And whether it is true or not, we decided to find out from Zhanna PRIKHODKO, a dermatologist-cosmetologist of the highest category of the Lviv cosmetology hospital.
– Zhanna Alekseevna, where did these “jokes” with piercings of the nose, lips, navels and so on come from, who infected our youth with this fashion?
– Fashion, of course, came from the West. But the women of India were the first to pierce their noses. Piercing there, if I may say so, had a certain semantic load. After all, the earring in the nose indicated the social status of a woman, i.e. for her marriage.In ancient Egypt, for example, to make a mistake: they are indignant.Piercing must be performed by a doctor
– Zhanna Alekseevna, you are a professional in your field. How do you feel about piercing and how safe is it?
– Personally, I’m fine. Although I should note that piercing is, first of all, a violation of the integrity of the skin and, of course, it should be done by a doctor, and not by some amateur dropout. After all, this is nothing more than a mini-operation. Therefore, you need to know anatomy well, do everything with a sterile instrument, and when necessary, apply anesthesia.
How can we do without medical knowledge here?
I am extremely negative about piercing on the genitals, because it threatens with blood loss, infection in the urinary tract, there may be various painful reactions to urination.
– After piercing the navel, clients probably do not have the most pleasant sensations?
– Well, firstly, after this type of piercing, clients can sometimes experience nausea, dizziness, up to loss of consciousness. In addition, the healing of the navel is quite slow, a total of a month. Of course, we give the client different solutions, ointments. In the first 10 days after the puncture, the navel must be looked after very carefully. In no case should you pump the press, experience any physical exertion or, God forbid, play sports, because cracks may appear. After piercing, it is undesirable to remove the earring, you just need to scroll it and lubricate it with a disinfectant solution, because for the first 10 days, lymph oozes from the navel, which is often mistaken for purulent discharge. Therefore, these places need to be disinfected with special lotions for a month. – And how to choose the right earring?
– It is desirable to select an earring from a special alloy, which includes surgical steel. It must be of a certain length, thickness and with a certain angle of inclination. She is also selected by a doctor, and you have to walk with her for at least a month.
– Very often, clients change surgical steel earrings for gold or silver ones. They are probably better than the so-called professional?
– Not at all. They are more expensive, but the body does not always perceive well gold and especially silver. Often these earrings do not “take root” and the client may develop a terrible allergy. Therefore, the best are still professional alloy earrings.
– What piercing is considered the most “jet”?
– Of course, the navel. For girls with a good figure, it looks very sexy, stylish and elegant. Although recently I had to perform it for a middle-aged lady, quite overweight, who came home from Italy. In general, this is a matter of taste.Navel piercing, of course, in the first place, in the second – the nose; lip and eyebrow – on the third.Fashion requires sacrifice, sometimes even physical.
– What should be avoided when piercing lips and eyebrows?
– First of all, breaks, otherwise there will be scars. An eyebrow, for example, after piercing swells for 2-3 days, so it must be carefully looked after. At the request of the client, we perform all these procedures under anesthesia.
– Zhanna Alekseevna, what part of the youth apply for these services most often?
– Most often students apply, and now even schoolchildren. True, the latter must have permission from their parents for piercing. It is better for students to do it, starting from the age of 16.
– And yet, Zhanna Alekseevna, piercing is nothing but a tribute to fashion. Is it worth the risk for this?
– As they say, who does not take risks, he does not drink champagne! And fashion, as you know, requires sacrifice, but within reasonable limits, of course. For example, creative youth simply do not want to be like everyone else, they want to stand out from the crowd with clothes, accessories, and hair. Piercing is one of the components of the image, the so-called punk culture. And whether someone likes it or not is his own business. So do not be afraid, dear parents, if your child one day appears in front of you with a mohawk on his head, in a leather jacket, berets and an earring in his lip – these are just the vibes of the transition period and a way to draw the attention of others to themselves.
